Wedding Ceremonies at Wood Hall Hotel

There are a couple of ceremony rooms at Wood Hall Hotel, but my favourite is the Georgian Room . I prefer the elegance and simplicity of this ceremony room. The large windows provide natural light making it a beautiful space to photograph a wedding ceremony. I am yet to photograph an outdoor ceremony at Wood Hall but would would absolutely love to.

Let me share two real weddings I’ve photographed at Wood Hall Hotel. Each and every wedding is completely different and unique.

Molly & Tom – February Wedding with a First Look in the Italian Gardens

Molly and Tom chose Wood Hall Hotel for their winter wedding in February 2023. Although the weather was crisp, the day was filled with love. One of my favourite parts of their wedding was the first look. They arranged their first look in the Italian Gardens before the ceremony.

This meant we had a peaceful, private moment to capture some beautiful couple portraits ahead of the day’s events, and they had some time together before the the ceremony. It was a well-orchestrated operation to get Molly out unseen by anyone to meet Tom. Molly and Tom were both on the cheer team at University. This played a part in their evening celebrations, including a spin during the first dance and Molly being lifted up on the dancefloor! 

Heather & James – A March Celebration Just Before Lockdown

Heather and James were married at Wood Hall back in March 2020 and I was super excited to be their Wood Hall wedding photographer. Just days before the first coronavirus lockdown came into effect. Their ceremony took place in my favourite, the Georgian Room. There was a really sweet emotional moment as Heather and her dad entered the ceremony room.

There was a definite last party atmosphere to this day. Everyone was aware that large gatherings were about to end for the foreseeable future. But rather than dampen spirits, it felt like a reason to let go and party! From the emotional ceremony to the fun of the reception, the whole day was a mix of laughter and love. It’s crazy to think back to how so many people weren’t able to celebrate properly during 2020 and 2021. It felt so special to be a part of this wedding. It was my only normal full day wedding in 2020!

One my favourite things about Wood Hall is the variety of photography backdrops it offers. The gardens, the long driveway, and open countryside views all add a timeless feel to your wedding photos – and I make sure to capture a mix of candid, storytelling images and relaxed portraits that reflect your personalities.
