When I arrive, the morning is usually calm, filled with nervous smiles, coffee in hand, handwritten vows, dresses hung like works of art, and the soft hum of anticipation.

And when I leave? It’s usually really late. Way later than most photographers. By then, your shoes are off, your hair is a little undone, your cheeks hurt from laughing, and your granny is busting some moves on the dance floor. And it’s magic. That is full day wedding photography.

Why I Stay Late And Why It Matters

Firstly, I always do my utmost to make sure that the things within my control run to time. If your first dance is 2 hours late because everyone was partying outside on a summer’s evening, that’s not a problem. I’m in no rush to disappear. Some photographers pack up after the first dance or at a certain time. But for me, that’s when the real party begins. That’s when the walls come down, the shots come out, and you’re just you, surrounded by the people who love you most, dancing like no one’s watching. These are the moments you will probably not even remember the next morning! But trust me, you’ll be so glad you have them captured.

50 years from now, when you’re flipping through your wedding album with your grandkids… You won’t just remember the cake or the centrepieces. You’ll remember the way it felt to dance, to laugh, to live fully in that moment with your favourite people.
