Rustic Yorkshire Wedding Venues – My Favourite Barn, Historic & Industrial Locations

Are you looking for a rustic Yorkshire wedding veniue? As I am a Yorkshire-based wedding photographer, a large proportion of my work takes place at stunning rustic wedding venues across Yorkshire. From historic halls and barns to woodland retreats and industrial spaces, Yorkshire offers an incredible variety of venues for couples dreaming of a relaxed, character-filled wedding day.

Whether you’re imagining exposed brickwork, wooden beams, medieval ruins or rolling countryside views, there truly is a Yorkshire wedding venue to match every style. Below is a selection of my favourite rustic wedding venues in Yorkshire, chosen not only for how beautiful they look in photographs, but also for the atmosphere they offer and how wonderful the teams are to work with.

East Riddlesden Hall Keighley

East Riddlesden Hall is one of the most popular and versatile rustic wedding venues in West Yorkshire — and it’s easy to see why. No matter the season, the grounds are breathtaking, offering landscaped gardens, peaceful waterways, historic architecture and rustic barn buildings all in one location.

Weddings take place in the beautiful Airedale Barn, a large and flexible space that can be styled to suit both intimate celebrations and bigger guest lists. What I love most about this venue is the variety of photographic opportunities, from romantic outdoor portraits to cosy barn-lit shots indoors. The team at East Riddlesden Hall are always welcoming, professional and incredibly supportive, helping couples create a wedding that truly reflects their personalities.

The Priest’s House Barden Towers

If you’re searching for a truly unique rustic Yorkshire wedding venue, The Priest’s House at Barden Towers is in a league of its own. I honestly don’t know another venue that combines medieval ruins, suits of armour and a beautifully restored chapel all in one place.

The venue is steeped in history and character, making it perfect for couples who want something a little different from the traditional barn setting. The chapel, in particular, is one of my favourite ceremony spaces. It has all the charm and atmosphere of a church wedding, without the religious requirements. If I were planning my own wedding, this stunning setting would be right at the top of my list.

The Normans York

For couples seeking a rustic wedding venue in Yorkshire that combines historic charm with a relaxed, contemporary feel, The Normans near York is a standout choice. This family-run estate has been lovingly transformed from a traditional farm into a versatile wedding venue, retaining original features like exposed wooden beams, brick walls, and high trusses while offering modern comforts and elegant styling.

The venue offers multiple spaces that allow your wedding day to flow naturally:

  • Ceremony Barn – A beautifully restored threshing barn with timber beams and soft lighting.

  • Courtyard – A charming outdoor space ideal for drinks, mingling, and natural light portraits.

  • Grain Shed – The hub for dining and dancing, featuring rustic textures, ambient lighting, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

What I love most about The Normans is how it encourages couples to live their day in the moment. Whether it’s laughter spilling across the barn, quiet private glances, or golden-hour portraits in the courtyard and beyond, the venue provides endless opportunities for relaxed, natural photography. Its rustic elegance and versatile spaces make it perfect for intimate celebrations or larger gatherings, all while feeling personal and unforced.

If you’re looking for a rustic Yorkshire wedding venue near York that balances character, flexibility, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, The Normans is an incredible option.

Oakwell Hall Birstall

Oakwell Hall is another standout when it comes to rustic Yorkshire wedding venues. This 16th-century country house offers a breathtaking combination of historic architecture, stunning grounds and a lovely barn for evening celebrations.

The grand hall is a beautiful location for your ceremony, while the surrounding landscape provides endless opportunities for relaxed, natural wedding photography. And if the Yorkshire weather decides not to play along, the interior of the Hall features stunning light, stone textures and cosy corners that photograph beautifully in any season.

Northern Monk Brewery Leeds

For couples looking for an industrial rustic wedding venue in Yorkshire, the Chapter Hall at Northern Monk Brewery is a dream location. This former mill in Leeds’ Holbeck Urban Village has been thoughtfully restored and now boasts exposed brick walls, high ceilings and lots of natural light.

It’s perfect for modern couples who want a laid-back, alternative wedding reception with loads of personality. And of course, hosting your wedding at a brewery means one thing — amazing beer on tap all night long! I absolutely love the surrounding area too, particularly the red-brick streets and dramatic backdrops that make for fantastic urban wedding photography.

The Chilli Barn Otley Chevin

Tucked away in the countryside near Otley, The Chilli Barn is a beautiful rustic Yorkshire wedding venue, ideal for couples seeking an intimate, nature-inspired celebration.

Surrounded by fields and woodland, the barn feels wonderfully secluded, while the option to add a marquee in summer allows you to extend the space. Fire pits, festoon lighting and outdoor dining make this venue magical in warmer months. The on-site catering is primarily vegetarian and vegan (and absolutely delicious) with meat options also available. It’s a perfect choice for couples who value relaxed dining, quality food and a peaceful setting.
