Why I Love photographing at Rushpool Hall wedding venue

Rushpool Hall is one of those venues that just keeps giving. It has space, style, and so much opportunity for incredible images. The light inside is gorgeous, especially in the ceremony room. Outside you’ve got woodland walks, open lawns, and on a clear day you can see the sea. It’s got the grandeur of a stately home but without the stuffy vibe. It feels warm and welcoming, and the staff are pretty awesome.

Each time I’ve photographed here, it’s been a completely different experience, but equally beautiful.

Real Weddings, Real Stories

Rebecca & Jared

Then there was Rebecca and Jared, who tied the knot in September 2024. From the moment I met Rebecca and Jared, I knew they had a special connection. Jared had written a really sweet poem for Rebecca, and had an emotional moment when he saw her walk down the aisle. The way he looked at her said it all: he was completely smitten. I had so much fun providing Rushpool Hall wedding photography for them.

What really made their day stand out, though, was the energy. During the meal, Jared’s dad and his friend had the entire room up dancing between courses! There was so much joy and celebration, and just when I thought it couldn’t get more fun, they opened up the basement nightclub for a proper party. That’s right — not one, but two dance floors. It was an incredible way to end a day that was already overflowing with love, laughter and so much joy. Rushpool Hall wedding photography at it’s best!

Annalie & Jack

Let me tell you about Annalie and Jack, who were married at Rushpool Hall in May 2023. The morning was incredibly chilled. Annalie got ready with her two daughters and her bridesmaids. One of the standout moments for me was when her dad saw her at the bottom of the grand staircase just before the ceremony. He burst into tears the moment he saw his little girl as a bride for the first time as did her brother and step dad.

During the wedding breakfast, Annalie and Jack chose a sweetheart table for just the two of them. We even had a fun (and slightly chaotic) time organising a group shot with each table joining them for a photo in quick succession. It was one of those daft, fun moments that had everyone laughing. I was howling during the speeches, a feel-good day from start to finish.

And if that wasn’t enough, the evening reception took things to a whole new level. There was full-on crazy dancing and a beautiful, emotional father-daughter dance between Annalie and her dad that had everyone reaching for tissues.

Because Annalie and Jack had their own children and other children attending the wedding, they decided to turn the conservatory into a play area for the kids with lots of activities to keep them entertained. As a Rushpool Hall wedding photographer, I love the different spaces this North Yorkshire wedding venue has to offer.

Weddings like Annalie and Jack’s or Rebecca and Jared’s are the reason I love what I do. My approach is simple: I want you to feel totally yourselves. I’ll be there to document the real stuff. The fun, the nerves, the happy tears, the hugs, the chaos, and everything in between. I don’t do endless posing or overly staged setups. I blend in like an extra guest (with a camera and an eye for light), so you can focus on living your day, not performing it.
