Where to say your vows
The vast majority of couples choose to have a civil ceremony; these two Baildon Churches are popular for weddings. St John’s Church stands proudly in the centre, and St James’ Church – affectionately known by us locals as the “Little White Church” down the road.
Both churches share the Vicar Sandra. If you are getting married here, a quick tip: Sandra only allows photography from the back of the ceremony. As a documentary-style photographer, I find it frustrating that I am unable to capture the full emotion of the ceremony for my couples when I work with strict vicars.
Hollins Hall Hotel
Hollins Hall is a hotel venue set within 200 acres of lush Yorkshire grounds. It is a versatile choice for any couple, offering a selection of function rooms that work for both intimate gatherings and much larger weddings. With plenty of onsite accommodation, your guests can relax and enjoy the party without worrying about the journey home.

The Old Barn at Esholt
The Old Barn at Esholt is just down the road in the historic village of Esholt – the original place for filming Emmerdale. It is a relaxed and rustic barn venue that feels cozy and full of character. This spot is perfect for couples who want a laid-back party in a beautiful, old-world setting. It offers a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes every guest feel right at home.

- Brackenhall House: This beautiful B&B sits right on the edge of Shipley Glen. Owned by Sally and her husband, it offers the flexibility for full hire. It’s a beautiful space with lots of light, and I hear Sally cooks a mean breakfast!
- Stay at Moorside: Another local option that offers a stylish, calm environment for you and your bridal party to relax before the “I dos.” Several different options are available, and its secluded location helps calm those pre-wedding nerves.
